Tyrkouphobia (from the Greek word tyrkouáz, meaning "turquoise", and phobos, "fear") is the fear of the color turquoise. It is a branch of chromophobia. Tyrkouphobic sufferers could only fear any light shades of blue or light greenish blue tints, although not darker blue. The fear may come about due to very unfortunate experience involving the color turquoise, such as getting debilitating injury while wearing turquoise shirt or getting involved in a crash with a rare turquoise-colored car. Sufferers would not own any articles of clothing that has that color in it nor getting to a room painted in turquoise.
