Palaeomorbidchildanimationophobia (noun): A specific phobia characterized by an intense fear or aversion to older animated films, typically from the 1990s or earlier, that were marketed to children but contain dark, unsettling, or traumatic themes. Individuals with this phobia may experience anxiety, discomfort, or distress when exposed to such films or when recalling their imagery, tone, or narrative elements. The films don’t have to be specifically made for children, but still qualify if they have that old cartoon animation style that would attract kids. Usually have talking animal protagonists.
Some examples include Felidae (1994), Plague Dogs (1982), Watership Down (1978).
