Venatiophobia is the fear of playing games. The fear often comes about due to complications, issues and bad luck while playing games. When playing games, players compete each other, meaning determining who wins and who loses. Players often disappoint when losing games, and often frustrate when making mistakes, which they are common fear triggers. This fear is often experienced by young children, and then often go away by teen years.
The fear can be coped by playing very simple games, and then work the way up slowly. Alternatively, ones can be coped by learning that losing is not necessarily a bad luck thing, but it is the nature of the game.
Venatiophobia is made up of Latin word venatio, meaning game, and Ancient Greek word phobos, meaning fear.
