Video Game Controllers

Ludectrophobia (from ludus electronicus, Latin for video game) is the fear of video games, a branch of ludophobia (fear of games). It is often due to negative experiences with video games, like getting scared by creepy song in it, getting scared by monstrous creatures portrayed in it, getting frustrated of failures, or even losing the saved game. This fear is also common in parents. Ludectrophobes would not play video games as well as avoid entering the room where people are playing video games. The symptoms include rapid breathing, sweating, heart palpations, terror, panic, sense of impending doom, and loss of control. It is treated through relaxation stragedies, cognitive-behavioral therapy, exposure therapy, talk therapy, etc. In exposure therapy, patients begin by playing very easy video games, and then gradually play more difficult and scarier games.
