Halley's-Comet

Cometophobia is the fear of comets. Sufferers would constantly keep watching the sky for bright streaks of white light. Centuries ago, people used to commonly believe that comets were harbingers of the end. Cometophobes in the present times has a similar story. Many sufferers believe that comets are signs of an impending doomsday. If the sufferer sees a comet, s/he may result in panic, dread, and feeling of incoming doom along with fast heartbeat and breathing, loss of control, and intense praying. Cometophobia is commonly treated by the use of medications, hypnotherapy, and psychotherapy (like talk therapy and support groups). Sometimes the treatment works by having them read stories about the history of people's thoughts about comets and modern scientific knowledge about comets.
