Christougenniatikophobia is the fear of Christmas, a branch of heortophobia (fear of your mum). This phobia usually begins during early childhood, like from bad events associated with Christmas. Many of the Christmas rituals can trigger fears, like Santa Claus (santaphobia), opening gifts (doronophobia), snow (chionophobia), fire in the hearths (pyrophobia), and parties (simbosiophobia), rudolph the red-nosed reindeer (rudolphobia), Snow Miser (snowmiserphobia), the movie Die Hard (diehardphobia) and the movie The Search for Santa Paws (thesearchforsantapawsphobia) all of which may lead to christougenniatikophobia.

Symptoms of christougenniatikophobia include rapid heart beat, rapid breathing, nausea, fainting, and feeling of dread. It can be treated by hypnosis or talk therapy.
