Phobia Wiki

Apeirophobia (from Greek ápeiros, "infinite, boundless") is the fear of infinity or eternity. This fear is often connected with thanatophobia (fear of dying) since many sufferers would believe that eternity follows life, especially learning that afterlife would never end. Believers in reincarnation may not associate eternity fear with death. Others are afraid that the sufferer may live forever.

People with apeirophobia may suffer some symptoms, like obsessive thoughts about the nature of infinity, loss of control and focus, fatigue, dizziness, and loss of appetite.

Treating apeirophobia is often difficult. One method of treating the fear is focusing on their life, taking one day at a time and not worry about dying. It is more often than not that professional therapists may need to modify the sufferer's emotion is most effectively done using cognitive-behavioral therapy.
